About Nexial Software

Craig Paterson Snr

Owner of Nexial Software NZ.

History

Craig Paterson Snr's computing background began in the late 70's when he was employed as a programmer of accounting applications which included Chartered Accountants General Ledger and Bill of Materials/Job Costing.

Paterson Computers was established in 1987 which soon became Patcom Ltd, and Craig subsequently sold the trading operation in 2004 to a national IT company working in the education sector.

Craig still trades as Nexial Software for application development on WIndows platforms.

Working mainly with Delphi and Microsoft SQL as a backend, he has produced the applications available in this website and continues to support custom developed applications as listed in the Gallery of this web site.

Why 'Nexial' ?

The term Nexial was first coined by science fiction author A. E. Van Vogt and was taken to mean 'the science of joining together in an orderly fashion the knowledge of one field of learning with that of other fields of learning'

These days we call this sort of thing "thinking out of the box". A Nexialist isn't someone who necessarily knows the answer to every question, but they do know where to look to find that answer which epitomizes the way in which the WWW has evolved today.

Reading the book The Voyages of the Space Beagle (1950) as a young teenager made a lasting influence on Craig and his outlook on problem solving, hence the choice of a name for his software web site.
